Hit Mock Endpoint

Send any HTTP request to a mock endpoint and receive its pre-configured response

How to Use

  1. 1. Create a mock with `POST /v1/mocks` and note the returned `endpoint_url`. 2. Point your application or test to `https://webhook.toolkitapi.io/v1/mock/{mock_id}`. 3. The mock returns the configured response on every request, regardless of HTTP method.

About this Tool

The mock hit endpoint is the public-facing URL that serves the pre-configured response for a mock. It accepts **any HTTP method** and returns the status code, headers, body, and content type that were set when the mock was created. If a delay was configured, the response is held for that duration before being sent.

**No authentication required.** This endpoint is designed to be called by your application or test suite as a stand-in for a real API.

Each hit increments the mock's `hit_count`, which you can check via `GET /v1/mocks/{mock_id}`.

Use Cases

API simulation

Stand in for a third-party API that returns specific status codes or error bodies

Timeout testing

Configure a `delay_ms` to simulate slow responses

Error handling validation

Create mocks that return 4xx/5xx responses to test your error paths

Integration testing

Replace real service URLs with mock URLs in test environments
